Professional Development
Throughout Children's Services, you'll find a genuine commitment to training and professional growth. For example, we support the post qualifying framework, including The Post Qualifying Child Care Award coupled with Award Holders' development opportunities. If you're interested in enabling others in the workplace, the Post Qualifying Practice Education pathway will be open to you.
That's not all. We're one of the few local authorities still to support a Practice Teaching Course. And if you want to be involved in social work practice education, you'll find regular development days provided with nationally recognised speakers brought in to assist you in developing your passion.
For Newly Qualified Social Workers, we offer an excellent initial training and induction package that will run for your first year in practice. And for Social Workers at every level, we're developing a host of new systems to support reflective supervision and evidenced based practice in each team.
In short, you'll be encouraged to develop your potential from the first day you arrive. As you do so, you'll be supported by our dedicated Professional Development Team. Social work is their business.
